Barrett Talks About the Armada

Hear about the overall experience from our volunteer Fleet Admiral Barrett Pall!   Barrett volunteers during the trip and helps the organizing team, plus he brings his amazing bootcamp workouts to the beaches of the BVI.   Listen to him tell you more about the trip here

Sandy Spit Flyaway

The Armada boys love stopping at Sandy Spit, our favorite mini island on the trip. It's a great spot for lunch, cocktails, sandcastles, tanning, and just having fun with friends for the afternoon as you soak up the adventure of a truly deserted island!

(Thanks to Matt, Chase and the Chicago boys for the drone shot!)

Cane Garden Bay Flyaway

Cane Garden Bay is one of our most developed stops, but it has an amazing feel that is part Caribbean, and part Mediterranean.   They also have great restaurants, fun live bands, dancing, and spa showers that are a welcome pit stop during a week at sea!

For laughs, note the organizing team who accidentally speeds by in their dingy on the way to the fuel dock and happened to catch the drone flying away!

See the Yachts

We have lots of pictures online, but this "flyaround" shot gives a good feel for the look and size of most of the yachts we use, and helps give perspective for first-timers.

Alex's Gay Armada Week Video

2016 Sailor Alex made an awesome compilation video of his week on the Armada and posted to YouTube.  Check it out to see "real life" on the trip!

The Boats and The Baths

The amazing rock formations that make up The Baths National Park are one of the coolest stops on the Armada.  This fun video gives you a good feel of the yachts as they are anchored off The Baths, then ends with a neat inland look at the rocks that the guys have just spent the morning climbing through

The North Sound & the Bitter End Y.C.

The North Sound of Virgin Gorda, with our favorite stops at the Bitter End Yacht Club, Saba Rock, and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, is one of the coolest places in the Virgin Islands, and certainly has some of the best food and poshest yachts.

See the boys hike to the top of the BEYC's hiking trail, then end with an amazing shot of Saba Rock, the BEYC, and the North Sound

Anegada Harbor Flyover

The empty beauty of Anegada makes it the Gay Armada's favorite island, and it is one of Jimmy Buffet's most beloved stops.   See the Armada yachts (and lots of new friends!) anchored at Setting Point as we get ready for an amazing lobster BBQ and beach bonfire at the Anegada Reef Hotel.

Sailing the Smoothness of the Drake Channel

The Gay Armada sails mostly in the Sir Francis Drake Channel, which is smooth and protected, making it easy sailing and even smooth enough for guys who sometimes get seasick to sail with no problems.

Straight Trip Video: What a sailing trip is like

This fun video is of a straight trip to the BVI.   While the Armada is different and fun (and uses nicer yachts!), these guys did a great job editing together a video that gives a good feel for the islands and what it's like to enjoy a fun week on the yachts.

(Note:  We give you this public YouTube video for ideas and context... Neither the people in the video nor their trip organizers have anything to do with the Armada.  It's a good video of the islands, though!)

"Northern Buoys" Gay Armada GoPro Video

Each group creates their own "name" for the boat, and our 2015 Canadian group smartly chose the "Northern Buoys" as their name.   Kenny edited his GoPro to help you all get a feel for their week on the adventure
